The (defaults to “localhost”) and (defaults to 6123) config entries are used by the TaskManager to connect to the JobManager/ResourceManager. Set this to the hostname where the JobManager runs, or to the hostname of the (Kubernetes) service in front of the JobManager’s REST interface. Rest.address, rest.port: These are used by the client to connect to Flink. If you use Flink with Yarn or the active Kubernetes integration, the hostnames and ports are automatically discovered. These options are only necessary for standalone application- or session deployments ( simple standalone or Kubernetes). The options in this section are the ones most commonly needed for a basic distributed Flink setup. The default configuration supports starting a single-node Flink session cluster without any changes. configuration parameters affecting the job, not the underlying cluster. On session clusters, the provided configuration will only be used for configuring execution parameters, e.g. On Docker-based deployments, you can use the FLINK_PROPERTIES environment variable for passing configuration values. Note that this is not supported in Docker or standalone Kubernetes deployments. Make a copy of the conf directory from the Flink distribution and modify the settings on a per-job basis. For resource providers which provide non-session deployments, you can specify per-job configurations this way. You can specify a different configuration directory location by defining the FLINK_CONF_DIR environment variable. You can manually set the environment variable JAVA_HOME or the configuration key in conf/flink-conf.yaml if you want to manually override the Java runtime to use. The out of the box configuration will use your default Java installation.

Changes to the configuration file require restarting the relevant processes. The configuration is parsed and evaluated when the Flink processes are started. We recommend you use the latest stable version.Īll configuration is done in conf/flink-conf.yaml, which is expected to be a flat collection of YAML key value pairs with format key: value.
